Fellowship Bible Church began in 1986 when God put it into the heart of one of His servants, Tim Bunn, Sr., to start a church that wasn't necessarily like other existing churches. This church needed to be doctrinally sound, family sensitive, and committed to training others to be more like Jesus Christ, while remaining flexible in its organizational structure.
The idea was not to be program or activity oriented but rather oriented towards the entire family with a focus on establishing the husbands and fathers in their roles in the household and church. To accomplish this, God raised up qualified mature men (elders) to serve as shepherds to the flock and to commit to following God's word rather than man's traditions. Unity among the elders and being of one mind and purpose in carrying out our mission has always been a priority. The less rigid structure, with an emphasis on freedom when it comes to non-absolute matters, enabled the church family to weather the many changes over the years.
In 1986 the church began meeting in a community building at Falcon Park. As it grew it met in "the barn" in the Hilltop-Needmore community. The church family eventually expanded to Fuquay-Varina Elementary School before finally settling into our current location after the building was donated to us by the folks at Mission Chapel. Our building is one of the oldest in Fuquay-Varina, but it's not the building that makes us a church. It's God and His people. We welcome you to come and check us out and see what God is now doing among us.
