The Elders learned today that a visitor attending our worship service on 10/11/20 tested positive for COVID-19. Therefore, as a prudent and necessary precaution, we are cancelling our in-person worship services for the remaining Sundays in October (10/18 & 10/25). In lieu of the in-person meetings, I (Pastor Terry) will present a message via Facebook Live @ 10:30 a.m. on those Sundays. We will begin having in-person meetings again at 10:30a on Sunday, 11/1/20. This is definitely not a time to panic but an opportunity to take in stride along with all of the myriad of other things we need to trust God for every day. Our God is still on the throne. This is HIS virus accomplishing HIS purposes all over the world. I rest in Psalm 115:3 that affirms: “Our God is in the heavens; he does all that he pleases.” And Psalm 135:5-6 says, “For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods [and viruses]. Whatever the LORD pleases, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps.” I am also convinced that the grace of Jesus Christ is sufficient for every day in every way as testified to by the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9. Right now God has a purpose in this matter and is working “ALL THINGS according to the counsel of his will” (Ephesians 1:11). If we can trust God for our salvation, surely we can trust him for our health and well-being. The promise of Isaiah 26:3-4 stands firmly established: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.” That’s what I’m resting in today and hope to do so again tomorrow and the next day for however many days the Lord gives me. Please join me in that place of rest. There’s sweet fellowship there.
